Landscapes 2021 is the whole of the Varaschin corpus we hold — one edition, no archive behind it — and it works by drawing rather than listing: dimensioned elevations and plans, printed page after page without a name or an article code beside them. Every figure on this page was computed from that book, and every one of them links back to the spread that prints it.

The catalogue draws; the photography places. These are 9 of the 36 lifestyle frames we hold for this house, one range each, and every one of them opens the spread that range is drawn on.
5 frames run 3:2 and 4run 2:3, at their own ratios — nothing here is stretched to fit a cell. The photography is Varaschin’s own, made between 2015 and 2022, so a frame may show a range in a finish the current edition no longer prints; the spread it links to is the authority, not the picture. No photograph in this house’s corpus names a venue, a city or a country, so none is named here.

12 outside studios are credited by name on their collections; the remaining 15 are credited to R&D Varaschin, the house’s own studio, as the book credits them. 34 of the 38 collections carry a printed description; the rest are drawings and photography only.
152 of the 304 rows are unlabelled technical variants — a dimensioned drawing with no name and no code printed beside it — and 152 of those sit in the first half of the book. They are counted, never named. What each one does carry is its printed callouts and a typology read from the silhouette against the book’s own Italian and English caption words, which is why a row can be a “dining armchair” here without ever being given a product name. One absence worth stating: KOLONAKI runs six table sizes all at the one height and does not appear in the printed low-table index, so it has no Low variant. We do not supply one.
Read the heights twice
Two height conventions, in one book.
A stated table height in this catalogue means one of two different things depending on which collection you are looking at, and the book says which in a footnote on the grid. 16 collection groups carry one of those footnotes. They are set out below in two columns, and the columns must not be read across.
Height includes the top
“Altezza riferita con top” — the figure you read already has the Hpl or ceramic top in it.

That is the whole of it. Both halves of the book were swept for article codes and the count came back 7 — all of them on one spread, p.159 (printed 314–315). Everywhere else, the book draws.
The other 297 rows in this dossier carry no code, and 152 of the 304 carry no name either. We have not given them one. A drawing indexed here as a “dining armchair” is a drawing the book prints as a dining armchair in its own caption words — not a product we have christened, and not a code we have inferred. Where the book names a piece it is named here, all 152 of them; where it does not, the row is counted and left alone.
Finish & textile
31 finishes, 53 swatch labels.
Colour arrives twice in this book: inside the collections, where a weave or a structure colour is named on its own spread, and again at the back, where a chapter of 10 themed boards sets the whole palette out together. The finishes fall into 12 families as the book heads them, and the boards run from p.327 to p.337 carrying 46 labels between them.
The catalogue names no mill, no grade and no customer’s-own-material policy for any of the 53 labels, so this page names none either. Nor is a colour reproduced here: a swatch label is not a colour, and an approximation printed beside the word would be the only thing on this page that we made up. The edition’s technical block runs to 25 notes and every one of them is published on this page exactly once: 7 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 9 = 25. No wind rating, warranty term, salt-spray figure or certification scheme is printed in the corpus, so none appears here. No photograph in the edition names a venue, a city or a country, so no location is attributed to any image on this page. Printed oddities, left as printed5 of them, each with its page
5 things in this edition read as errors. Some are, some are not, and the difference matters enough that they are set out rather than quietly tidied. Correcting a supplier silently is how a catalogue becomes a rumour; the reader gets the oddity and the citation and can judge it.
- PAVILION / PAVILLION
- The collection title on the page is set “pavilion”; the running head above it is set “PAVILLION”, with two Ls. Both spellings are the book’s. We index the title and keep the running head as an alias. p.314
- LINK, three lengths in millimetres
- The extendable-table spread captions the three states “200 mm / 255 mm / 310 mm”. The dimension icons and the rest of the catalogue are in centimetres, so these are evidently centimetres — recorded as printed, not corrected. p.204
- BALI bergère, arm below seat
- The arm callout (40) is lower than the seat callout (45), which reads like an error until you look at the photograph: the solid-teak arm rail passes below the cushion top. Image-verified, and left as printed. p.170
- COVER, “180 g/m²”
- An areal density of the cover fabric, not a product weight. It is carried as the printed spec and the weight field is left empty rather than filled with a number that would mean something else. p.322
- TOWER, an incomplete text layer
- One page in the book where the scan’s text layer is demonstrably short of what is printed — it yields two callouts where the page carries four. The image is the authority and the row was read from it. p.296
