The Mediterranean count is our classification, and the only one on this page that is: a collection counts when the name as printed is a town, island, region or city with a Mediterranean coastline, which is why each is listed with its place. The rule is deliberately too strict — NOSTRUM is from Mare Nostrum, the Roman name for the sea itself; MISTRAL is the wind off Provence; BORA is the wind off the Adriatic; MITJORN is a Formentera beach, and Catalan for midday; CALA is the word for one of its coves; OLIVO is the olive tree — and none of those six counts. Nor does the naming hold everywhere. The other 15 place-named collections are ANGLET, BIARRITZ, BOLONIA, CHICAGO, CÁDIZ, FARGO, FARO, HABANA, LONDON, MADRID, MANCHESTER, ROTTERDAM, SEVILLA, TARIFA, TORINO: the Atlantic seaboard, inland Spain and Italy, northern Europe and the Americas. Every iSiMAR frame is a texturized matte polyester powder coat over galvanised steel or aluminium. The frame programme runs to 32 colours, of which 24 carry a printed RAL reference; it is one of three programmes in a finish system of 124 rows — 32 frame colours, 31 tabletop surfaces and 61 textile colours.

Folding & storage

Folds flat, stores against a wall, comes back out for the next sitting.

17 tables in the index fold — 11 GÉNOVA and 6 MUELLE. For a venue that is not a detail. A terrace that seats lunch and hosts a function at seven has a storage problem before it has a furniture problem, and the fold is the answer the book actually prints.

Care & technical

Why galvanised steel ends up on a beachfront.

Galvanising puts zinc between the steel and the weather; the powder coat puts a texturized matte polyester over the zinc. Two barriers, one frame — which is why the house that built cold rooms now builds terraces. The 11 technical notes below are the catalogue’s own, with the page each one is printed on.

The workshop

60 years of bending metal, pointed at a terrace.

The metalwork is 60 years old as the 2026 book counts it; almost ten years ago, the same factory turned it towards outdoor furniture. Both figures are the catalogue’s, on p.2.

Our product has always been exposed to humid and highly corrosive environments, working in industries such as poultry equipment or industrial refrigerators. Therefore we have acquired during decades the experience and knowledge necessary to live in outdoor environments.

The form column is iSiMAR’s own line drawing, cut as vector from the index spread of the catalogue that printed it. It stands for the collection rather than for any one piece, which is why a row may carry six silhouettes or one. 65 of the 68 names have one. No drawing is printed beside HABANA, KiDS and TRAZO in any of the seven catalogues we hold, so those cells are empty rather than lent a neighbour’s glyph. Each drawing names the edition and printed pages it was taken from.

14 of the archive collections are indexed from the 2019 catalogue’s technical sheets, so their pieces carry printed codes and measured dimensions to that edition. Under the other 9 nothing is indexed — no piece, no dimension, no finish — and the link is to the page that printed them, which is all we can honestly offer.
