Galvanised rod, bent outside Pamplona, Spain, for 60 years as the 2026 book counts it. 611 pieces of the range are indexed on this site.

Thirteen photographs and every quotation below are from iSiMAR’s 2026 catalogue, cited by page.

01 — Origins

It began with chicken cages.

Sixty years ago, the López family founded Industrias San Isidro, a small workshop that produced metal structures.

iSiMAR, p.3

The wire came first and the furniture came later — which is the whole reason an iSiMAR chair survives a beachfront. The house learned corrosion in the poultry and refrigeration trades, then pointed sixty years of it at a terrace.

With the same wire, we made chicken cages, refrigerator shelves, as well as other products. We´ve worked with this material for years and have achieved maximum durability, resistance, and nobility”.

The book sets the wire trade’s first customer opposite its own founding page.

iSiMAR was born in 2012. We took a new direction, manufacturing our in-house designed furniture and initiating our internationalization process.

02 — The material

Noble and sutainable materials [sic]

iSiMAR’s own heading, spelling as printed, p.6

Coils of galvanised rod in the material store — the state every iSiMAR frame starts in.

“Our experience and knowledge of the material allows us to offer solutions for resistance, durablility [sic] and intensive use. In this way, our materials are noble, recyclable, recycled and responsible with the environment.”

03 — The making

We are manufacturers

For decades we have manufactured metal structures and have achieved a level of excellence in the manufacturing process, with the ability to control the entire process from beginning to end in our factory Pamplona, located in the north of Spain.

iSiMAR, 2026 catalogue, p.5 — the same spread prints the six steps below, and carries an ISO 9001 — Bureau Veritas Certification mark in its corner.

  1. Strapped coils of steel rod stacked in the material store.

    01

    Choice of Material

  2. A red rod-bending machine head with wire running through the tooling.

    02

Industrial technology applied to component manufacturing

  3. A welder in a mask joining a chair frame, sparks throwing in an arc.

    03

    Welding and finishing

  4. A steel jig holding bent rods to the curve of a chair back, finished bends stacked below it.

    04

    In-house tooling

  5. Freshly white-coated wire frames hanging in a row on the paint line.

    05

Painting in powder epoxy polyester, for outside use

  6. Finished galvanised chair frames stacked in rows, workshop racking behind them.

    06

    Quality Control Systems

Steps verbatim from the printed list, p.5. The photographs are from that spread; the book does not caption them individually, so the pairing follows its own left-to-right order and nothing more.

04 — The drawing

Ten studios draw for this house.

Sketches marked with dimensions, a set square, and a fanned book of fabric samples.

An iSiMAR collection is drawn outside the factory and made inside it. The 2026 book gives a page to the studios it works with; the collection each one signed is the credit already carried on our own collections table, and the line beside each name is the studio’s own, quoted from that page.

Studio profiles, 2026 catalogue, p.7

Collection credits are the ones printed in the catalogues and carried on the iSiMAR dossier; each name above links to the page it is drawn on. The house’s full credited roster, across every supplier, is at designers.

05 — What the house commits to

A specification that has to answer for itself.

Terracotta wire chairs and a fire bowl on a timber deck at sunset — the closing frame of the 2026 book’s #berespectful chapter.

We have developed a Social Responsibility Policy (SRP), a global plan that protects and strengthens our principal Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

#berespectful is a commitment with the environment, innovation, social and local economic environment, as well as with the quality of the product.

iSiMAR, 2026 catalogue, p.8

If your project carries sustainability targets — a rating tool, a client environmental policy, a tender schedule that asks what the furniture is made of — this is the page to specify from. The 9 commitments below are printed in full, in iSiMAR’s own words, so a submission can quote a named source with a page number rather than a marketing adjective.

They are the supplier’s published claims. No certificate, environmental product declaration or audit report supporting them is held on this side — so quote them as claims, and ask iSiMAR in writing for the documents behind the ones your submission has to evidence. We will make that request with you.

  1. 01Our products are made with materials that are 100% recycled and recycable [sic].
  2. 02We are committed to a circular economy, producing and developing products that have a long life.
  3. 03Our factory runs on 100% renewable solar energy and generates more energy than it consumes, sharing the surplus locally.
  4. 04We strive every day to reduce our carbon footprint. We have achieved CO2 negative emisions [sic], contributing positively to the environment.
  5. 05We have a plastic-free product and packaging policy, as well as other minimum waste, responsible consumption and recycling measures.
  6. 06We promote innovation and incorporate technological advances in order to grow and help our community grow.
  7. 07We support local industry. 100% of our suppliers are European and 80% of them are located in our region, in a radius of less than 60 miles.
  8. 08Our company ethics work for the human rights, progress, workplace security and the equality of opportunity for all gender and race.
  9. 09We carry out activities and alliances with like-minded organizations, with those who share the same objetives [sic] and values as us.

All 9 verbatim from 2026 catalogue, p.8, spelling as printed. Two things that page does that are worth knowing before you quote it. One: commitment 07 does not say the same thing twice — the English column prints “a radius of less than 60 miles” and the Spanish column beside it prints “a menos de 100 kms”, which is about 62 miles. The English is quoted above; if the distance matters to a submission, ask which figure the house stands behind. Two: the page also carries three marks — Be Respectful (iSiMAR’s own seal), SME Climate Hub, Alaska Circular — printed as artwork rather than as text, and reported here as marks the page carries, not as memberships verified on this side.
