Replacement canopies for Caravita umbrellas

A new canopy, the same frame

Sun, wind and rain work on a canopy every day it is open. When the fabric tears at a seam or fades across the top, the canopy can be replaced on its own: the frame, the base and the mechanism stay where they are.

Caravita umbrellas are configured by model, shape, size, fabric colour, frame colour and valance, and a replacement canopy is specified the same way. Casualife supplies replacement canopies for Caravita umbrellas and services their frames.

What the quote needs

1. Maker, model and yearCaravita Big Ben, Samara, Amalfi and so on, and the year it was bought or the original order number. The original invoice shows both.
2. Shape and sizeOpen the umbrella and measure the canopy edge to edge along each side, or across the widest point if it is round or octagonal.
3. How many of eachEach model and size is its own set.
4. Frame and detailsFrame colour, and whether the canopy has a valance or a wind roof.
5. PhotographsOne umbrella fully open, any label or tag, and a close view of the wear.

Measuring a canopy

Open the umbrella fully. For a square or rectangular canopy, measure edge to edge along each side; for a round or octagonal canopy, measure straight across the widest point. Round to the nearest ten centimetres.

Count the arms — the ribs running from the centre to the edge — and note whether the canopy has a valance or a wind roof.

Choosing the fabric

A replacement can match the canopy it replaces or take a new colour. Caravita’s standard canopy is a 100% acrylic awning fabric; the programme also includes LUMERA acrylic, Tentmesh, Ferrari Precontraint 302, ProNature acrylic and TempotestStar FR, a flame-retardant polyester for venues that specify one.

Supply only, or supplied and fitted

Canopies can be supplied to fit on site, or supplied and fitted. A logo or lettering can be printed on the canopy or the valance, in up to four colours by screen printing.
