Coffee Table
coffee & side tables · teak · SKU TN42
Tuscany is made from solid rustic teak, its knots and checking left to show. The teak can be given a hand-applied finish in grey, natural or pewter; left uncovered, the finish wears after a season and the timber weathers to a grey patina.

The Tuscany collection
8 pieces in this collection.
Most Kingsley Bate pieces are teak, so they are chosen by material rather than by colourway. The timber is specified by how it will be allowed to weather, not by a paint code.

- Weathering
- Teak is impervious to sun, rain and snow and is suited to salt-air positions. Left untreated it moves through honey to a silver grey over roughly a year. Treated, it holds its golden brown.
- Cleaning
- To bring the original colour back, use a teak cleaner — about thirty minutes for a bench. To clean without lifting the grey, soap and water is enough. Apply protector after cleaning to hold the golden brown, and reapply seasonally. A new piece needs no cleaner.
- Indoors
- Solid teak can also be used indoors; oil or wax it when it is.
- Protection
- A protector, applied once or twice a year, holds the golden brown; a clear stain guard is applied two to three times a year.
- Assembly
- Most pieces ship knocked down in cartons and assemble in about fifteen minutes.
- Covers
- Fitted covers are made in solution-dyed polyester, colourfast to 1,000 hours of sunlight, with a water-resistant backing and buckles that stop water pooling.
