The Daytrader Tiki Bar & Restaurant

Two colours doing all the work. Mint-green frames against coral clapboard is the whole scheme — and because it is the frame that is coloured, not a cushion, it holds up under a Florida sun and a wash-down.

The Daytrader bar — a coral-pink clapboard servery with mint-green stools along the counter, rattan armchairs and timber-topped tables in front.

The colour case

The complementary-fixture case in one photograph: the furniture is not matched to the building, it is pitched against it. Coral wall, mint frame, timber top — three decisions, and the room is legible from the car park.

A venue that photographs well is a venue that fills. iSiMAR builds that in at the order line rather than leaving it to styling: 32 frame powder-coat colourways and 14 fabric collections across four grades, on the same pieces, at the same lead time.

That is what makes a scheme like this specifiable rather than lucky — the frame is the colour, so it survives the sun, the salt and the wash-down that a cushion-led scheme does not.

The Daytrader Tiki Bar & Restaurant, room by room

Each room below shows the frames we hold of it, what it is doing with colour, and the pieces a record places in it — with the record itself, so the attachment can be judged rather than taken. Where nothing is attributed, the room says why.

The bar

  • The bar seen from the deck through palm fronds: mint-green stools at the coral counter, rattan chairs and timber tables under a white gabled roof hung with ferns.
    The bar from the deck
  • A close view of the bar hatch — coral clapboard, ferns overhead, three mint-green stools drawn up to the counter.
    The hatch

Mint against coral, with nothing mediating between them. The frame carries the colour, so the only maintenance decision the room ever makes is a hose — and the rattan and timber are there to keep two saturated colours from reading as a graphic rather than a bar.

iSiMAR’s project record names a “CÁDIZ bar stool” for this venue. A bar stool is placed at the bar by the record’s own type name — that is a reading of the record, not of the photograph.

The covered deck

  • The covered deck: mint-green chairs at white tables under a slatted ceiling, a built-in bench along the wall and a blue-and-white striped cabana beyond.
    The covered deck

The same mint, moved outdoors and given white tables and a slatted ceiling to sit under. Away from the coral it stops being half a contrast pair and behaves like a neutral, which is the argument for colouring a frame rather than a wall.

Nothing attributed here

Nothing here is attributed. iSiMAR names a COLONIAL bench for the venue without naming a room, so it is listed below the rooms rather than against this frame.

Also named for this venue

iSiMAR names this piece for The Daytrader Tiki Bar & Restaurant without saying which room. It is listed here rather than set against a photograph, because the record does not put it in one.

What else is in the range

iSiMAR names these collections for this venue. Below they are in full — the pieces that match this look and the ones that sit near it, every one on the same frame colourways and the same fabric programme. This is the range, not a claim about which piece stands in which photograph.

Browse MAX

No piece in MAX carries a cut silo image, so this range shows no thumbnails. The 29 rows are all on the collection page.

  • iSiMAR also names a CÁDIZ counter stool (the 65 cm seat height). The corpus carries one CÁDIZ stool row — 8140 at seat 76 cm — so the counter-height sibling has no product page to link to.
  • MAX is named for this venue and carries 29 corpus rows, none of which has a cut silo image. The collection links; the individual tables cannot show one.

How it is measured: Lower 60% of every frame, quantised to 64 colours, frames weighted equally, colours merged below dE 14 (CIE L*a*b*, D65), top 8 by share. Nearest frame powder-coat is the closest orderable colour, not a record of what was specified. A colour sampled off tile, render or water is not a claim that anything was coated in it — the right-hand column says what is orderable closest to it, and ΔE says how close. Under about 6 the two read as the same colour at swatch size; above about 15 they plainly do not.

The colourways a scheme like this is ordered from

Two independent axes, both on the standard order line, and neither is a record of what The Daytrader Tiki Bar & Restaurant bought — iSiMAR publishes no per-venue schedule. The frame is powder-coated in one of 32 colourways; the seat is made up in one of 14 fabric collections, graded I to III, plus the two Serge Ferrari slings.

The catalogue publishes no colour value for the fabric programme, so none is guessed here. It does print a swatch for each of the 61 named colours, and those printed samples are reproduced on every piece page — the collection is what an order line names. Cushion make-up runs in three tiers: Premium, Decorative, Fluffy.
